ENSURE RESIDENTS ARE MOVED TO SAFETY Starting with areas most at risk; Direct ambulant residents to a safe area away from the fire (behind FR doors). Remove non-ambulant residents to safety; Check bedrooms/bathrooms/toilets. Close doors. 4. PROCEED TO ASSEMBLY POINT AT:- 5. FIRE-FIGHTING Attack the fire with the correct extinguisher if you are able to do so quickly. Do not put yourself in danger. IF YOU HEAR THE ALARM Take actions 3 and 4 (above). Ensure that the FIRE BRIGADE has been called. AT ASSEMBLY POINT Person in charge to:- Check register; Arrange for fire crews to be met and give necessary information to the senior fire officer; Prepare for complete evacuation and arrange shelter for residents."
